our word for it...
The existing business was demerged and Ergo reverted to being 100% owned by the founding shareholder with the other half of the business moving with the other shareholder into a new and separate company.
The newly demerged Ergo business comprising electrical engineering services expanded with the launch of an inhouse civil and structural engineering capability and, more recently, a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) function.
After consolidating the business in NZ (withdrawing from the Australian market), the business now has three offices throughout NZ including expansion of the Auckland office. Staff numbers have more than doubled since the demerger.
The business has maintained a growth rate in sales >10% per annum and improved its net margin.
The company has implemented a successful succession plan which has seen the introduction of (employee) shareholders with a significant holding in the business.
“Craig and Richard have been consultants to Ergo for almost 10 years (a bloody long time!). During this time the company has been through a demerger, more than doubled in size, implemented a practice management system, moved to Xero and implemented a successful succession plan”.
